In math this week, we continued to practice division, 3 digit by 1 digit and 4 digit by 1 digit. Students played a board game with a classmate to help them review and practice using the tail division strategy to divide. They are taking home a copy to continue playing at home-challenge them to a game! The PowerPoint on our portal can help review the steps of the algorithm if it helps! In reading, we have been focusing on some PARCC Prep! I told students that I want them to have exposure to each of the different types of tasks they will experience on the Language Arts section of the test. We wrapped up our non-fiction unit with a Research Simulation Task. This week, we began reviewing for the Literary Analysis task. This is where students need to analyze ideas in two different texts. We reviewed the elements of fiction, as well as the genres of fiction. We also talked about some helpful hints for responding to the multiple-choice and open-ended questions. Ask your child what they are!
